A dream - a life
The story of Ronny Kokert, one of the most successful martial arts athletes world-wide, might be straight out of Hollywood:
The diagnosis of suspected osteomyelitis - a bone-marrow illness - changed the life of the thirteen-year-old.
In spite of already being confronted by the medical doctors with living without sports, he proved his willpower to himself and to his family. Ronny began to dedicate his life to martial arts and the spiritual philosophy thereof.
However, he had a vision that drove him on:
"I decided to become a warrior."
Ronny participates as a professional in international tournaments and studies the various martial arts all over the world
- 1992: Ronny Kokert becomes the youngest Tae Kwon Do state champion
- 1994: US Open medal winner
- 1998: Ronny Kokert finally becomes the Open World Champion in the kaek-pa breaking-test finals. His American opponent weighs 66 lb more than he does.
Ronny Kokert came to know many different methods and teachers, but the way martial arts were taught was not the way he was seeking.
The spiritual aspects of the martial arts were mostly considered to be unnecessary and the modern findings of sports science seemed of no interest to anybody.
Vision of a martial art for the third millennium
"My dream of becoming a great warrior took a few serious knocks when it collided with reality. However, at my core, I always held the vision of a martial art with more to offer than winning medals and serving a hierarchy of masters."
This is how Ronny began to develop a concept based on the teachings of Zen Buddhism, enabling self-determination in action using every ounce of mental and physical potential available.

- 2003: Ronny Kokert signs a full Instruction contract for one-on-one combat and self-defense at the University of Vienna
Ronny lives together with his wife Evelyne and daughter Kim in Vienna.
